This unique use of contrasting colors and images is certainly a tribute to his talent.
Darrall Slater brings an interesting background to his work. Born in the industrial Midlands in the small town of Sedgley, he lived close to the inland canal system. There he began a love of anything on , under or close to the water. He attended college in the historic Cotswold region, working his way through by assisting a photographer friend build photo sets and helping with commercial shoots .After visiting San Diego in 1988, Darrall decided that this is where he wanted to pursue his calling in Maritime photography. Shortly after, he purchased a rigid inflatable boat, which he now uses for his on-the-water work through his current company,Bayshots.com .
“I am lucky to have the chance to combine both of my hobbies”, stated Darrall “ In fact I never go on my boat without some sort of camera.
And if I have my camera gear, I want to be on the water, as that’s where all the things I like to photograph are.”
And his deep passion for his work Is evident as you view and experience the many remarkable images on display in the hold of the "Star."
